Deputy marshals run in full tactical gear to commemorate fallen U.S. marshals

SA run one of several held nationwide

SAN ANTONIO – Deputy marshals ran two miles in their full tactical gear on Friday to remember U.S. marshals killed in the line of duty.

One of several nationwide, the commemorative run began at the Tower of the Americas and ended at the federal courthouse.

“It is designed to be difficult for each and every one of us to remember the seriousness of this particular job,” said Chris Bozeman, a deputy U.S. marshal. “And also to just show the public that we are out here trying to make sure that we keep them safe.”

Five deputy marshals have been killed in the line of duty over the last five years.
