Dog attacks, bites man in the arm on city's West Side

3 ACS officers were needed to capture dog

SAN ANTONIO – A man was taken to the hospital after San Antonio police said he was bitten in the arm by a dog on the city's West Side.

Officers with the San Antonio Police Department said the incident occurred Monday around 8 a.m. in the 4200 block of Eldridge Avenue, which is not far from the Edgewood Independent School District offices.

SAPD officers said it took three Animal Care officers to capture and restrain the dog.

The man was taken to University Hospital and is expected to be OK, police said. There is no word on what will happen to the dog.
