Police: Two kids, driver injured after driver runs red light, crashes into pole

Police say driver, 9-year-old passenger not wearing seat belts

SAN ANTONIO – A driver and two children were taken to the hospital Friday night after a crash on the West Side. 

San Antonio police said the driver, 28, ran a red light at the intersection of Castroville Road and General McMullen, lost control and hit a pole. 

All three people in the car were taken to University Hospital.

Police said the driver and a 9-year-old passenger were not wearing seat belts and are in critical condition. 

The other child, 6, was wearing his seat belt and has abdomen and neck bruises.
