San Antonio police seek robbers in robbery on Babcock Road

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police are asking for the public's help in identifying two robbers who stole money at a Speedy Cash store Thursday morning.

It happened around 6 a.m. at the Speedy Cash in the 1700 block of Babcock Road in San Antonio.

Police said the two robbers ambushed employees as they were opening the safe and counting or distributing money in preparation for doing business.

The robbers gained access to the business by cutting a hole in the roof and crashing through the ceiling, police said.

The duo brandished firearms and demanded money from the employees. Police said the robbers took the money and escaped out the back door of the business.

The robbers were dressed in dark clothing and wore masks and gloves, police said.

Anyone with any information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 210-224-7867. Police said Crime Stoppers will pay up to $5,000 for any information that leads to an arrest in this case.
