SAN ANTONIO – A party was held Saturday in celebration of 100 years since the establishment of Kelly Field.
The event helped reunite hundreds of people who worked at the U.S. Air Force base before it closed in 2001.

Kelly Field was once a major economic engine for the Alamo City and provided jobs to thousands of families for nearly a century.
Port San Antonio sponsored Saturday’s event, which was held at John T. Floore's Country Store in Helotes.
Port San Antonio was able to redevelop the Air Force base to a campus that has been able to lead to jobs in fields that include aerospace, manufacturing, cybersecurity, defense and global logistics.
