Report turns out to be false

SAN ANTONIO – A report that indicated Selena's killer, Yolanda Saldivar, could be released from prison soon caused an uproar from fans of the slain Tejano singer.

It turns out the site is a satirical news website and the report was false. That did not stop Selena fans from voicing their outrage on social media.

Many Twitter users posted their outrage and disbelief via the hashtag #yolandasaldivar.

According to the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Saldivar is not up for parole until 2025.

The beloved Selena Quintanilla-Perez was fatally shot by Saldivar on March 31, 1995.
