Two men arrested in separate incidents

LA GRANGE, Texas – The Fayette County Sheriff's Office seized cocaine worth more than $10 million in two separate seizures this week.

On Monday, an investigator stopped a Chevrolet pickup truck for a traffic violation on Interstate 10 at mile marker 660.

Due to several criminal indicators and conflicting stories by the driver and passenger, the investigator searched the vehicle and found about 67 kilograms of cocaine under and behind the rear seat of the vehicle, officials said.

The seizure had a street value of $6.7 million.

The driver, 66-year-old Mauro Bustamante, was arrested for felony drug possession.

On Tuesday, a sergeant stopped a Jeep Liberty Interstate 10 at mile marker 662 for a traffic violation.

A search by a canine revealed 41 kilograms of cocaine with a street value of $4.1 million.

The driver, 44-year-old Sergio Gonzalez, of Mexico, was arrested for felony drug possession, officials said.
