NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas – A former band director at Canyon Middle School in New Braunfels was arrested Wednesday and charged with sexual assault of a child.
New Braunfels police said David Warren Gunn, 56, was taken into custody without incident at his home.

He is accused of having a sexual relationship with a former student in 2007 when the victim was 16 years old.
Gunn was taken to the Guadalupe County Jail, and his bond was set at $150,000.
Police said more charges are pending against Gunn. Investigators are asking any other potential victims to contact Detective Richard Groff at 830-221-4167.
Gunn faces punishment of 2 to 20 years in prison and a fine of up $10,000 if he is convicted.
