More than 40 shots fired at East side house party, 4 hospitalized

Conditions of victims are unknown

SAN ANTONIO – At least 4 people were taken to area hospitals with gunshot wounds after a gunfight broke out at an east side house party early Saturday morning.

More than 40 shots were fired in the 500 block of Ferris Avenue around 4:15 a.m. after a group got into an argument in the backyard of the home.

The fight spilled into the street where several shots were fired by several people. Police say four people ranging from 18 to 29 in age suffered gunshot wounds.

Authorities said one male victim, 20, was shot in the back and a female victim, 29, was shot in the chest. The extent of the other two victim's injuries is unclear. 

Three victims were taken to San Antonio Military Medical Center. Another was taken to University Hospital. Police said the 29-year-old who was shot in the chest is fighting for her life. Others suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Authorities did not say whether they have a person of interest or a suspect in custody.
