SAN ANTONIO – In an effort to serve those who served our country, Haven for Hope hosted a fair Wednesday night to help connect homeless veterans with the services they need to find permanent housing.
"We're very concerned about our veterans because of the service that they've given to our country," said Laura Calderon with Haven for Hope. "And yet on the same token we have quite a few veterans that are homeless and there are many, many services here in San Antonio that they could take advantage of."
Wednesday's event is in conjunction with the mayor's challenge to end veteran homelessness by next year, which is part of a national campaign.
