Upload pictures of your hotel room from your cellphone

The TraffickCam app is helping to protect children across the globe. It allows users to help combat sex trafficking on a global level when they travel.

Users submit photos of hotel rooms and the images are paired with a national database used by law enforcement.

Traffickers commonly post photos of their victims in hotel rooms as part of their online advertisements. The app allows investigators to match photos and find the location of potential victims of sex trafficking.

The app allows users to input additional information about the hotel in which they’re staying, including room and telephone numbers for the establishment.

One user suggests capturing pictures with unique decor to help identify the rooms more easily.

The app currently has more than 1.5 million photos of different hotel rooms, according to Wnep.com.

The program has an 85 percent success rate of providing officers with the correct location within the first 20 options, according to Molly Hackett, who is the principal partner of Exchange Initiative, the company that created the app.
