Masked booby bird found in Cape Cod

CAPE COD, MASSACHUSETTS – A tropical bird is at a wild animal care center more than a thousand miles away from its home in the warm Atlantic Ocean.

A woman walking along the beach in Cape Cod, Massachusetts, found the bird earlier this week.

It was later determined to be a masked booby bird and the animal care team determined it was in grave condition.

The birds live along the warm tropical waters of the Atlantic, but the care center believes Hurricane Jose carried the bird all the way to Northeast U.S. coast.

The feathered creature’s health is showing signs of improvement, Wild Care Cape Cod said in a Facebook post Wednesday.
