KSAT 12, 100 Club of SA host phone bank

Funds help families of first responders killed in the line of duty

SAN ANTONIO – One day before fallen San Antonio police Officer Miguel Moreno's life is celebrated at a funeral service, KSAT 12 and the 100 Club of San Antonio are hosting a phone bank Thursday to help families of fallen San Antonio police officers, firefighters and other first responders killed in the line of duty.

Donations also help families of first responders injured in the line of duty.

The number to call is 210-351-1363 until 7 p.m.

"Our sole mission is to care for the families, surviving families of all these officers, first responders, firefighters who are lost in the line of duty," said Arthur Cavazos of the 100 Club of San Antonio. "It's a responsibility we take seriously. If there's a bright side to it, every time that we've been called upon to support a family, the citizens and the viewers have donated money to help support these families."
