PLEASANTON, Texas - A woman accused of embezzling funds from a local Little League has been arrested, according to the Pleasanton Police Department.

Police said officers received a report May 29 from the Pleasanton Little League stating that there was upward of $10,000 missing from its checking account.

Detectives determined the funds were being embezzled by the Little League's treasurer, Brandie Kubish, 40, police said.

It was determined the total amount of funds embezzled was in excess of $17,000, according to the Pleasanton Police Department.

Police said a warrant was issued for Kubish's arrest for the offense of misapplication of fiduciary funds of $2,500 or more but less than $30,000, which police said is a state jail felony.

Kubish was taken into custody Wednesday, police said. She has since been taken to the Atascosa County Jail.
