Man accused of robbing corner store for lotto tickets left fingerprints near crime scene, police say

Prints were left on cup, according to affidavit

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police identified a robbery suspect using fingerprints left on a cup, according to an arrest affidavit.

Garrett Cuevas, 29, was arrested Saturday on suspicion of aggravated robbery, according to Bexar County Jail records.

On Sept. 25, police were called to the Chevron gas station located at 103 W.W. White Road for a robbery, according to the affidavit.

The clerk told police that a man entered the store and grabbed a drink. Then, the man grabbed a roll of lottery tickets before running out the location.

When the clerk followed him, the man pointed a handgun to the clerk and told him, “just go back,” according to the arrest affidavit.

Although the man fled with lottery tickets, police recovered the cup left at the scene.

Days later, the report indicated that Cuevas’ prints were left on the cup.

The clerk identified Cuevas as the robber in a photo lineup, according to the arrest affidavit.

Cuevas’ bail was set at $30,000, according to jail records.
