SAN ANTONIO – Keystone School teacher Joya Holden got quite the surprise Friday when she was named Sea Life Aquarium’s Texas Science Teacher of the Year.
Holden is a fourth-grade teacher who was nominated by colleagues and parents for her incredible dedication to her student's education.
A state-wide search garnered hundreds of nominations from across Texas, and Holden is the only teacher in the San Antonio area selected for the honor.
