NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas – The death toll in Comal County from COVID-19 has now risen to 168, officials said Tuesday.
According to a news release, the latest residents to die from the virus are two New Braunfels women in their 80s, a New Braunfels man in his 80s, a New Braunfels man in his 50s and a southern Comal County man in his 70s.
Health officials on Tuesday reported 170 new cases for a total of 6,545.
Comal County hospitals on Tuesday reported caring for 89 COVID-19 patients, with 17 in intensive care and 11 on ventilators.
So far, 5,504 residents have recovered after contracting the virus.
