Man shot, killed in parking lot of East Side convenience store, police say

Officers called around 11 p.m. to parking lot of Stanley’s Ice House Station in 2400 block of E Commerce Street

SAN ANTONIO – A 25-year-old man was shot and killed in the parking lot of an East Side convenience store late Wednesday night, San Antonio police said.

Officers were called around 11 p.m. to Stanley’s Ice House Station in the 2400 block of East Commerce, not far from South New Braunfels Avenue and St. Philip’s College after receiving word shots fired.

According to police, officers arrived to find a man with multiple gunshot wounds to the chest.

The man, later identified as Cameron Terrell Woods, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said there was a large gathering of people in the area they had to control. Some witnesses were taken in for questioning as a black sedan was seen driving off. A resident who lives nearby contacted officers because he discovered his house had been hit by the gunfire, police said.

A motive for the shooting is not currently known. The name of the person killed has not been released.

The San Antonio Police Department, the San Antonio Fire Department and EMS all answered the call.

The case remains under investigation and no arrests have been made, police said.
