SAPD: Victim uncooperative after being found shot in back

Officers called just after midnight to 500 block of Gembler Road

SAN ANTONIO – A man in his 40s who was shot Tuesday morning was uncooperative with officers and was taken to an area hospital for his wound, San Antonio police said.

Officers were called just after midnight to an apartment complex in the 500 block of Gembler Road, not far from AT&T Center Parkway after receiving word of a person wounded.

According to police, officers arrived to find the man with a gunshot wound to the lower back. He was taken to Brooke Army Medical Center in stable condition.

Investigators found shell casings in the parking lot and in the breezeway of the building. Officials said the victim was uncooperative, so they don’t have much to go on. The victim gave no description of a suspect.

The San Antonio Police Department, the San Antonio Fire Department and EMS all answered the call.

The investigation into the shooting is ongoing, police said.
