Dog killed in South Side house fire, SAFD says

SAN ANTONIO – A dog perished in a South Side house fire after San Antonio firefighters said it was unable to escape the flames.

The fire happened around 2 p.m. on Thursday, in the 800 block of Aaron Place.

Several fire engines were called to the scene and fire crews were able to extinguish the flames quickly.

No one was inside at the time of the fire, but firefighters said a dog died at the scene.

The cause of the fire is unknown as of yet.

Firefighters estimate $50,000 in damages to the home and the investigation continues.
