SAPD said details about the incident are unknown at this time, but the woman, 50, was stabbed in her chest. She was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police said the incident is possibly connected to an argument over property and may have involved the woman’s ex-boyfriend. However, the other person involved in the stabbing was not at the home when officers arrived.

It is unclear if that person left the residence in a vehicle or on foot.

The woman’s son was inside the home at the time of the stabbing but did not witness the incident, police said.

No further information was released.
