Seguin High School students were instructed to evacuate after bomb threat, district says

The school expects to start at its regular bell schedule on Friday, Seguin ISD says

SEGUIN, Texas – Seguin High School students were forced to evacuate after dismissal Thursday due to a reported bomb threat, according to the Seguin Independent School District.

Jack Lee, superintendent for the district, confirmed Seguin police received a bomb threat targeted toward the school after the final bell rang.

Students who were still on campus after dismissal were bussed to Midway Hall at the Coliseum on Austin Street to reunite with parents, a district spokesperson said.

“Please know that all students are safe,” Seguin ISD said on a social media post.

Seguin High School is expected to start at its regular bell schedule on Friday, a district spokesperson said.

Additionally, the Friday night football game will continue as scheduled. Seguin ISD said extra security will be present on campus and at the football field.

The district said counselors are available for students in need.

The high school said parents can read updates through the ParentSquare application and Seguin ISD social media pages.

“We are aware that information has been shared suggesting circumstances beyond what is described above. At this time, we have no confirmed information to support those claims,” Lee said in a statement. “We ask our families and community to rely on official communications from Seguin ISD and our law enforcement partners for accurate information.”

After school activities on Thursday were canceled, the district said.
