Chris Pérez, Michael Salgado among performers taking stage at 14th annual Muertos Fest

Max Baca y Los Texmaniacs will pay tribute to Texas Tornadoes musician Augie Meyers, who died earlier this year

SAN ANTONIO – Muertos Fest organizers revealed the festival’s full lineup Wednesday ahead of the free, three-day celebration at Hemisfair, set for Oct. 23-25.

This year, the festival will feature two processions and five stages with more than 50 performances.

Muertos Fest opens Friday, Oct. 23, with “Presente: A Night to Remember,” a quieter evening built around the community altar exhibition.

A sensory-friendly altar viewing will also take place from 5-7 p.m., followed by a performance from Tejano and Chicano orchestra LA 45, with special guest Sunny Ozuna.

Grupo Metal, featuring Chris Pérez, headlines Saturday night. Tejano musician Michael Salgado closes the festival Sunday.

Organizers said Max Baca y Los Texmaniacs will pay tribute to Texas Tornadoes musician Augie Meyers, the San Antonio musician who died earlier this year.

Other performers include:

  • Girl in a Coma
  • Los Carnales
  • El Dusty y Los Homies
  • Vanita Leo
  • Santiago Jiménez Jr.
  • Campanas de América
  • Mariachi Las Alteñas
  • Guadalupe Dance Company

The two processions, which take place one on Saturday evening and one on Sunday afternoon, will include more than 15 groups honoring San Antonians who have died.

Muertos Fest, which honors the traditions of Día de los Muertos through art, live music and more than 80 altars created by community members, draws more than 100,000 attendees each year.

Organizers said Muertos Fest has an annual economic impact of more than $5.3 million.

If you can’t make it, that’s alright! You can watch a recap of all the fun, as KSAT will air a two-hour primetime Muertos Fest special at 8 p.m. on Oct. 28 on all KSAT platforms.
