SAN ANTONIO – High school football season is underway, and fans looking to support local teams can do so at San Antonio Independent School District’s Alamo Stadium without spending much.
The historic venue offers free parking, affordable tickets and low-cost concessions for game days.
Alamo Stadium, located at 110 Tuleta Drive, was built in 1940 and is known for its limestone construction. The stadium is nicknamed the “Rock Pile” and remains one of the most recognizable high school football venues in Texas.
Fans driving to the stadium can park for free, though arriving early is recommended because lots can fill up quickly on game nights.
Tickets are available through Hometown Ticketing. Fans can buy them ahead of time online, use the app or purchase them at the gate. Admission is $8.75 for adults and $3.75 for students.
Once inside, fans have plenty of seating options. Alamo Stadium has a capacity of 18,500 and is the third-largest high school stadium in Texas.
Seniors 60 and older can get into games for free with a Gold Card. The card is available at the athletic office inside the convocation center.
At Northside Independent School District, student admission is set at $4 and general admission at $8.
Season passes are also available, but prices vary by school. The cost depends on how many home games each school hosts at Northside ISD facilities. Those passes range from $35 to $70.
The district also offers a Gold Card for seniors ages 65 and older. Seniors can attend regular-season athletic events for free with the card. Click here for information.
