Man arrested after allegedly killing woman in wrong-way accident

Orlando Saldivar, 26, is charged with intoxication manslaughter

SAN ANTONIO – A man has been arrested after allegedly killing a woman in a wrong-way accident early Sunday morning, San Antonio police said.

Orlando Saldivar, 26, is charged with intoxication manslaughter in the death of 27-year-old Lauren Patrick.

According to police, Saldivar was driving South in the Northbound lanes of Highway 281 near Mulberry just North of downtown around 5:30 a.m. when he slammed head-on into Patrick's car.

Police said Saldivar's car collided with Patrick's sending it sliding toward a tour bus.

First responders attempted to cut Patrick from her car, but she died on the scene.

Bond has been set for Saldivar at $125,000.
