SAN ANTONIO – Frank Gomez, 28, was arrested Friday night and charged with murder and two counts of aggravated assault in the shooting death of a 7-year-old girl.
Police believe Gomez was the person who pulled the trigger and shot Iris Rodriguez, 7, Wednesday night while the family was walking down San Fernando Street on the city’s West Side.

The little girl was taken off life support Thursday.
San Antonio police said they worked with the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force, the repeat offenders project and Crime Stoppers to find Gomez.
He was arrested at a home in the 4600 block of Pecan Valley.
Police said the investigation into the shooting continues and additional arrests could be made.
