Man charged in shooting death of pregnant teen on NW Side

Armando Rodrigo Garcia-Ramires, 36, charged with 2 counts of capital murder

SAN ANTONIO – Armando Rodrigo Garcia-Ramires, 36, has been arrested and charged in the shooting death of a 15-year-old mother and her unborn child at an apartment complex on the city's Northwest Side, San Antonio police said Tuesday.

Garcia-Ramires is accused of killing Jennifer Delgado inside her apartment located on Babcock Road near Hillcrest Drive on Monday afternoon.

Police said they initially responded to a call for an attempted suicide and found Garcia-Ramires shot in the upper body. He was taken to an area hospital for his injuries. While officers were at the scene, they learned Garcia-Ramires may have hurt someone at a nearby apartment, police said.

Delgado, who was nine-months pregnant, was found with multiple gunshot wounds, police said. Delgado's one-year-old child was also found inside the apartment unhurt.

Police said Delgado and Garcia-Ramires knew each other but would not confirm what their relationship was to each other.

Garcia-Ramires has been charged with two counts of capital murder, one for a child under the age of ten. He is being held on a $2 million dollar bond.
