Man struck, killed by 3 cars identified

Victim identified as Damar Williams, 20

SAN ANTONIO – UPDATE:

The medical examiner has now identified the man killed after he was hit by three cars on the Southeast side late Friday night. He's been identified as Damar Williams, 20.

Police said he was killed after trying to run across Interstate 37 near the New Braunfels exit. Williams' family told KSAT he had special needs and almost always needed to have someone with him.

They don't know how he ended up on that highway. His sister said, "He was a friendly loving and caring person that always wanted to help. He loved making people laugh he just had a good heart all around."

Wake service/viewing is at Liberty View Church of Christ on Friday, August 11, 5:00-7:30 pm, service is 6:00 -7:00 pm. Funeral service is at Liberty View Church of Christ on Saturday, August 12 at 10:00 am, interment is at Meadowlawn Cemetery. The repass will be at the church following the interment.

The family asked that flowers to be delivered to the church on Friday, August 11.

A man in his 30s was killed late Friday night when he was hit by multiple cars, authorities said.

According to police, the man was attempting to cross Interstate 37 near the New Braunfels exit when he was hit by at least three cars.

All of the drivers stopped to help the man, police said, but he was pronounced dead on the scene.
