SAN ANTONIO - A 31-year-old man was arrested Friday in connection with the theft of two Tesla vehicles, police said.

Michael Tietz-Briseno drove off with the 2017 models after he shattered the glass of the front door of the dealership in the 23000 block of Interstate 10 and took the key fobs, said police spokeswoman Sgt. Michelle Ramos.

Officers set up a quadrant and found one of the vehicles abandoned in the 4400 block of Walnut Woods, Ramos said.

Tietz-Briseno got into the car a short time later and drove away before he was quickly stopped by officers and arrested without incident, Ramos said.

A second vehicle was found about a half-mile from the dealership.

The cars, which are valued at more than $100,000 each, were not damaged.

Tietz-Briseno, who is on parole, will be charged with theft of a vehicle, burglary of a building and drug possession, Ramos said.
