Victim found in truck near Holly at SW 19th streets

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police are investigating the death of a man who was found shot and killed inside a pickup truck on the West side.

The shooting happened at 10:45 p.m. Tuesday in the 100 block of Holly St.

Neighbors said they heard up to 10 shots fired in quick succession.

According to police, the driver of the truck was hit several times in the chest. They said he drove a short distance after being shot and hit two vehicles.

The 28-year-old victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Neighbors said they didn't know the victim but had seen the truck in the area.

"His truck, all day, was passing by here like he was looking for somebody or something," said a neighbor. "The cops said that he's not from this neighborhood and that's all we were told."

Neighbors said they were concerned the gunman could still be nearby.

Police investigators said they only have a vague description of a possible suspect.
