Man on the run for 5 years taken into custody on more than 100 counts of child porn, officials say

Man fled to Buenos Aires, Argentina

HOUSTON – A man who was on the run for five years was taken into custody by the U.S. Marshals Service Lone Star Fugitive Task Force on Thursday.

Thomas Patrick Waggoner, 65, was taken into custody after formally being indicted by a grand jury in in Kerr County in June 2011 for allegedly committing 58 counts of possession of child pornography and 58 counts of promotion of child pornography, authorities said.

Waggoner was released on bond, according to authorities.

In September 2013, a warrant was issued for Waggoner’s arrest for allegedly absconding from supervision and failing to appear in court, according to authorities.

Authorities said Waggoner then fled to Buenos Aires, Argentina.

After years of efforts, Waggoner was flown from Buenos Aires to George Bush International Airport in Houston, where he was taken into custody after deplaning and transported to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office. He will be extradited to Kerr County, authorities said.
