Dillion Thomas Guzman arrested by Lone Star Fugitive Task Force

SAN ANTONIO – A man suspected of running over a Windcrest police officer is asking for forgiveness.

Dillion Thomas Guzman was arrested by the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force Wednesday afternoon.

"I'm really sorry to the officer and his family for what I did. I did not intend for it to get that bad,” Guzman said while in handcuffs.

Police said Guzman put up a fight and was a carrying a loaded rifle.

Guzman is accused of running over a Windcrest police officer with a truck on July 13 and then driving off.

The officer is said to be in stable condition but has a long recovery ahead of him.

“We're very thankful. It's been a rough couple of months for law enforcement here locally, and we're very thankful that the Windcrest police officer is going to be OK,” said Officer Doug Greene, with the San Antonio Police Department.

Guzman is facing several charges, including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon on a peace officer, possession of a stolen vehicle, unlawful possession of a firearm and resisting arrest.
