Man suspected of stealing from same homeowner multiple times

John Robles, 28, caught with 12 receipts for pawned items, police say

SAN ANTONIO – John Robles, 28, is accused of targeting the same North Side home multiple times and stealing items from a backyard shed, then pawning them.

Robles was arrested earlier this month on other charges. He officially was charged in connection with the burglaries Thursday.

An arrest warrant affidavit said that a homeowner called San Antonio police to the 10800 block of Mt. Tipton on March 12.

He told officers that he caught Robles hiding among some trees in his backyard. The affidavit said that he also told police Robles was the same man he had caught on surveillance camera the previous day, stealing items from his backyard shed.

The homeowner said he installed the cameras after being burglarized on other occasions prior to those, the affidavit said.

Police said when they took Robles into custody, they found 12 pawn shop receipts in his pocket. The affidavit said that Robles also admitted to pawning some of the items stolen from the victim's home.
