Carter's 27-year-old girlfriend told police that Carter on Wednesday got angry with his parents and threatened to kill them "for not voting his way."

The girlfriend told police that she went home and found Carter's guns missing.

She also told police that Carter had been "reading up on mass killings" and that she "fears what he may be capable of," and was spending a lot of time at a shooting range.

An arrest warrant was obtained, and Carter was arrested on a charge of aggravated assault.
