Man tries to avoid paying bar tab by calling in bomb threat

Man faces multiple charges

A Pennsylvania man who wanted to get out of his bar tab called in a bomb threat, creating a laundry list of charges for himself.

According to The Associated Press, police were called to the Pittsburgh restaurant when Barry Clapperton, 40, tried to leave multiple times without paying. Police were about to let the man go when another customer stepped in to pay his bill, but were alerted to a bomb threat to a nearby restaurant. Clapperton tried to run, but officials were able to subdue him with a stun gun.

Police say Clapperton fessed up to the bomb threat in order to create a distraction.

Clapperton is facing charges including threats to use weapons of mass destruction, public drunkenness and false identitfication to police.
