UVALDE COUNTY - The Uvalde County Sheriff's Office announced search crews recovered the body of Patrick Ojeda about a mile away from where his truck was swept away by floodwaters, ending the three-day search for him.

Officials said Ojeda called 911 around 1:50 a.m. Wednesday, saying his truck stalled out, stranding him on the Sabinal River Crossing bridge on Ranch Road near FM 187 south.

Sabinal police said they saw Ojeda try to get out of his truck when he was swept away by the flooded Sabinal River.

Ojeda's truck was discovered partially submerged about a half-mile from the crossing later that day, but his body was not inside, Uvalde County Sheriff Charles Mendeke said on Wednesday.
