SAN ANTONIO - Police arrested the dreadlock-wearing masked gunman who San Marcos police said was on the run for months after robbing a local Metro PCS.

Police said Christian Kearney, 42, was found Aug. 8 and taken into custody by San Antonio police and members of the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force.

San Marcos Police Department officials said Kearney robbed the Metro PCS store located in the 1500 block of Aquarena Springs Drive around 4:50 p.m. on Feb. 4.

Kearney disguised himself by wearing a mask and a dreadlock wig when he entered the cellphone carrier store and robbed it at gunpoint, police said.

Police said Kearney took off with an undisclosed amount of money.

A Facebook post shared May 17 by the Police Department said Kearney was spotted at a business across the street from Metro PCS and he and his vehicle were captured on surveillance video.

Officials said the Facebook post helped investigators track down Kearney in San Antonio and led to his arrest.

Kearney is now being charged with aggravated robbery, a first-degree felony.

If he is convicted, officials said, Kearney could face anywhere from five to 99 years in jail. His bond has been set at $200,000.
