HOUSTON - Houston-based Gallery Furniture has opened two locations as shelters for families and pets displaced by Harvey, Time.com reports.

The company announced in a Facebook post, "Gallery Furniture North Freeway and Gallery Furniture Grand Parkway are now open as shelters for anyone who is in need.

"We have food, beds and clean restrooms for anyone in need who comes to those locations.

"Kenneled animals who must stay in the kennel and at owners' side are welcome."

The Houston Chronicle reports the store is stocked with food, water and mattresses.

"Houstonians have a safe, dry place to take shelter at Gallery Furniture, so if they can get here, they are welcome," Gallery Furniture owner Jim McIngvale said in a news release. "We hope to give them some comfort in this incredibly difficult time."

According to the Chronicle report, each store can comfortably accommodate a few hundred people.
