Event to be held at Alamo City Church

Saturday's event will held from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Alamo City Church, 6500 Interstate 35 North. The event will be held in conjunction with San Antonio’s Household Hazardous Waste Mobile Collection Event.

Anyone interested in dropping off medications is asked to place pills into a sealable plastic bag. Aerosols and liquids can be left in their original containers. Syringes with needles or other "sharps" are not permitted for drop-off.

Those wanting to dispose of medications do not need proof of residence. However, those wanting to dispose of hazardous waste need to bring a recent CPS Energy bill showing that they are a solid waste rate payer.

Since the first MedDropSA event in 2009, 20,156 pounds of medicine have been collected.
