SAN ANTONIO – Toyota of Boerne held its seventh annual Turkey for Troops event Friday.
The dealership is giving about 6,000 turkeys to military personnel and their families.
Vic Vaughn, the owner of Toyota of Boerne, said the event is just a small way to give thanks to military members.
“It’s really not so much about the turkey. It's really about how much we appreciate them and appreciate their service for our country,” Vaughn said.
Employees and volunteers will be out at the dealership off Interstate 10 until 6 p.m. Friday. All you have to do is show your military ID to get a turkey.
A local military family was also awarded a mortgage-free home thanks to the dealership and the Military Warriors Support Foundation.
