Mission Trails residents plan next move

Residents waiting on details of developer assistance

Residents of the Mission Trails Mobile Home Park met Sunday just as they have the last few Sundays since their rezoning saga began.

The group is now working on a second phase of action following the City Council's approval of the rezoning of the park for mixed use development.

The developers have offered to help residents move by covering some moving costs and even buying some older homes.

Organizers said they are still waiting for the details.

"They've not received anything from the developer. The arrangements that were read at the City Council meeting, we've asked for them from Councilwoman Viagran and they still haven't been provided," said Maria Davalos-Salinas of Mission Democrats of Bexar County.

Davalos-Salinas said many of the park's 300 residents live in older homes that cannot be moved and may need more assistance.

They planned to speak with their lawyer Sunday to discuss the next step in the process.
