Motorcyclist arrested after chase on South Side

Incident occurred around 9:45 p.m. Thursday

SAN ANTONIO – A motorcyclist is facing charges after authorities say he led them on a chase that ended on the city's South Side.

A spokesperson for the Texas Department of Public Safety said troopers tried to stop the motorcyclist around 9:45 p.m. on Thursday but he sped off.

Troopers followed the man to 99th Street near Mission Road where the rider eventually lost control and crashed. The man landed in a grassy median and tried to run away before being caught, a DPS trooper said.

Officials said the man only suffered minor injuries.

The name of the man is not presently known. He will be charged with evading arrest.
