Ohio preschool teacher accused of encouraging kids to fight, posting video

COLUMBUS, Ohio - A woman has lost her job as a preschool teacher and is facing multiple charges after officials say she encouraged the kids to fight, then posted videos online.

Chavay Williams, 30, of Columbus, a former teacher at Playtime Pre-School, is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 23 after being charged with 21 counts of endangering children, 10tv.com reports.

The Columbus Dispatch reports that court records show a video of kids fighting in a playground area at the preschool was found on SnapChat in June.

None of the 21 children in the video, ages 3 to 5, was seriously injured.

Investigators say Williams was acting on her own and that the preschool quickly fired her when they learned of the video. Another unidentified teacher also was fired, NBC 24 reports.

According to the Dispatch, Williams told police she recorded the video to show parents how the children were behaving while at the preschool.

Each charge carries a maximum sentence of six months in jail, the Dispatch reports.
