President Trump unveils plans to change Air Force One's color scheme

New look would have red, white, blue

WASHINGTON – President Donald Trump unveiled plans to change Air Force One's color scheme during an exclusive interview with George Stephanopoulos and ABC News on Wednesday.

Trump last July announced he intended to redesign the famed fleet.

The president's plan would get rid of the blue-and-white paint job for a new red, white and blue one.

The White House told ABC News that the new look also comes with plane modifications, including a presidential suite, a medical operating room and a kitchen that "can feed 100 people at a time."

In response to the announcement, the House Armed Services Committee voted 31-26 in favor of an amendment that will restrict paint and interior decorating choices for the new presidential aircraft in development.

The President requested the planes be ready in 2021, three years earlier than the original plan of 2024.
