SAN ANTONIO - The Cassiano neighborhood on the West Side wants a safer community. Their concerns include drugs, prostitution and graffiti.

The trouble spots in the neighborhood include street corners, overgrown vacant lots and abandoned homes.

"We're out here all the time because we get the complaints," San Antonio Fear Free Environment Officer Bryant Soldevila said.

Soldevila and Officer Alfred Gomez have been charged with cleaning up the community. It’s a tough job that'll take the effort of San Antonio police and residents.

"Honestly, I think it's just the neighborhood coming together. If you see something, say something," Soldevila said.

Keeping the neighborhood graffiti-free also helps keep up its appearance. The task of painting over it is oftentimes taken on by SAFFE officers, their city partners and an graffiti abatement team.

Anyone with information about crime in the area, San Antonio police asks that they call Crime Stoppers at 210-224-7867. Residents can also email them at
