SAN ANTONIO - The clean up process at a Northwest Side apartment complex continued Friday afternoon after heavy rain and storms blew through overnight.

Several families at the Broadviewe Apartments were displaced after strong winds from a storm caused their roofs to collapse.

The complex, located in the 200 block of West Broadview Drive near Bandera Road, had a total of 16 units damaged, four with heavy damage, according to the complex manager.

Jose Barrientes, a tenant at the complex said he woke up to a loud noise and leaky roof around 2 a.m.

"It sounded like a train. Like something was going right through through the building," Barrientes said.

Soon after, Barrientes said his roof collapsed and water gushed in.

Other residents spent the day trying to salvage what they could.

"We are trying to salvage what we can. The bedroom, the living room, it's pretty much gone," said Hector Ferdin.

Management said all of the families displaced have been placed in other apartments temporarily.

There were no injuries reported.

Management believes it will take a couple of weeks before the apartments are once again livable.
