Papa John's driver killed during delivery ID'd

Victim identified as 46-year-old William O'Neill

SAN ANTONIO – The Bexar County Medical Examiner's Office released the name of a pizza delivery man who was killed late Wednesday night on the Northwest Side.

William O'Neill, 46, was making a delivery around 9 p.m. at an apartment complex in the 6000 block of De Zavala Road, but left his vehicle running.

When O'Neill returned, a man was inside his car and ran him over. San Antonio police believe O'Neill was trying to stop the robber

O'Neill was transported to University Hospital, but pronounced dead a short time later.

The robber fled in the stolen vehicle and remained at-large as of 10 p.m. Thursday.

If caught, San Antonio police said the robber, believed to be in his late 20s, would be charged with capital murder.
