2 arrested after chase with BCSO deputies in stolen vehicle

Chase began around 5:15 p.m.

SAN ANTONIO – Two people have been detained after a chase on the city’s Southwest Side.

According to Bexar County Sheriff Office Sgt. Mike Trevino, a deputy was on traffic patrol when he saw a white SUV speeding on Highway 181.

The deputy attempted to have to driver pull over. It was during this time the deputy ran the license plate and discovered the vehicle was stolen and a chase was initiated.

The chase ended around Interstate 35 just south of Highway 90. Sky 12 caught up with the chase moments before it ended. Video from the helicopter showed the car weaving through a residential area with police in close pursuit.

The chase ended when a Bexar County Sheriff's Office deputy used a pit maneuver to stop the driver.

No one was injured.

It is unclear why the two people inside were avoiding law enforcement officers. Both surrendered to deputies as soon as the vehicle was surrounded.

The chase latest for less than 20 minutes and traveled approximately 30 miles, Trevino said.
