After brief chase police searching for vehicle thief

SAN ANTONIO – Two deputies were led on a short chase by a suspect in a stolen vehicle Tuesday afternoon.

A Bexar County sheriff's deputy tried to pull a man over for speeding at 12:45 p.m. when the suspect took off instead of stopping.

The chase started on W. Poplar Street and continued onto Interstate 10 before the suspect exited at Fredericksburg Road. 

The driver and a passenger took off on foot after getting stuck in traffic near Fredericksburg and Woodlawn.

Deputies found drugs and a gun inside the car.
