Police search for wanted suspect in August 2016 stabbing death case

Family, friends want justice in case, offer extra $5,000 reward

SAN ANTONIO – Family members and friends of a 34-year-old man found dead last year want justice for their loved one, and police need the public’s help to find a wanted person in the case.

Roland Pantoja’s body was found Aug. 30, 2016, on the side of a road. Police said he died from apparent stab wounds.

"It's just like the saying goes, ‘You cut one, we all bleed.’ And that’s just that. That’s the family unit coming together, whether it be in death, sickness, anything like that," said Lawrence Silvas, Pantoja's cousin.

San Antonio police have arrested 30-year old David Ortiz and 52-year old Ignacio Jimenez Jr. in connection with Pantoja’s death.

A third person is also wanted in the case. The San Antonio Police Department and Crime Stoppers want the public’s assistance in tracking down 33-year old Robert Anthony Casarez.

"Closure is what we need, and we're just asking that whoever did this come forward and turn themselves in. We don't want any more blood on the streets. We just want justice," Silvas said.

Anyone with any knowledge of the shooting is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 210-224-7867. Tips can also be texted to CRIMES (274637) or by visiting the Crime Stoppers website.

Crime Stoppers will pay up to $5,000 for information leading to an arrest. Family and friends have also put up an additional $5,000 reward.
